Volkswagen plans worldwide pay freeze until 2030

With immediate effect, the salaries of roughly 650,000 VW employees worldwide are to be frozen. For the 275,000 employees in Germany, a multi-year pay freeze would mean a loss in real income of far more than ten percent. The works council and the IG Metall union are downplaying the move.
